The Volta Region is located near the Togolese border and is known for its wonderful nature. The area  became part of Ghana after the second world war, after Togoland was divided between Britain and Germany.  In some local schools, german is still taught and some people are still fluent in german.
Ghana is a beautiful country with many natural resources. It is a place where you can experience the history, culture and tradition of Africa to its fullest extent.
The Volta Region Ghana has been known for centuries as one of the most fertile regions in West Africa. The people are also some of the friendliest and most welcoming around!

Lake Volta Ghana

Lake Volta, Ghana is not just a tourist destination but also an important source of freshwater. It’s the world’s largest man-made reservoir and supplies about one-third of Ghana’s population with water for drinking, cooking, bathing and other domestic needs. The lake provides employment to over 300 thousand people who work in fishing or on rafting boats that ferry tourists around the lake to various hotspots such as Monkey Island where they can spend time with monkeys and other wildlife.

The Volta Region Ghana has the Mont Afadjato at 885m, its the highest point in Ghana. Various other mountain peaks are located such as the Amedzofe mount, the Agumasta mount and many others. The region is dominated by the River Volta and Lake Volta on the west flank.

Mount Afadjato:

Mount Afadjato is an 885-meter high mountain located on the Ghanaian and Togolese borders. From its summit, one can enjoy spectacular views of villages in close proximity to it as well as forests and mountains in the distance. This lush green forested area has a large number of wildlife which inhabit this Mount Afadjato sanctuary.

Agumatsa Wildlife Sanctuary & Wli Falls

These animals deserve to live in a safe environment, and for that reason Agumatsa Wildlife Sanctuary was created. This sanctuary has over 220 bird species including 400 butterfly types as well as monkeys and antelopes. One of the best features of this sanctuary is one Ghana’s highest waterfalls–the Wli fall!

Kyabobo National Park

Kyabobo National Park is a wonderfully diverse reserve that consists of many waterfalls and scenic views. It has an area size of approximately 360 km2, which provides plenty activities for visitors to get involved in such as hiking, biking, swimming and fishing.
